Commodities: Boom or Bust - What are Institutional Investors Doing?
Description:
Speaker: Sebastien Lacroix
Under normal circumstances, commodities tend to lead the stock market in an inverse relationship. Over the last year, commodities have shown signs of exhaustion from their post-2008 crisis bull run. So what does this portend for global stock markets?
In this free 2 hours talk, guest speaker Mr Sebastien Lacroix will share with participants on various topics such as the historical performance of commodities, the relationship between commodities and stock market, how and when to invest in commodities and the factors that impact commodities prices.
If you would like to catch a glimpse of the markets may move in the near future, come and join us! Register early as seats are limited!
Sebastien Lacroix Bios:
Sebastien Lacroix joined the CAIA association in March 2011 after serving as an Executive Committee member of the CAIA Singapore chapter for several years. Before joining CAIA, Sebastien was working for a Swiss alternative investment company where he was in charge of marketing hedge funds and private equity products to institutional investors and private banks in Asia.
Sebastien started his career by working for a traditional long only asset manager in France. A strong believer in the potential economic growth of Asia and the possibilities offered by alternative investments, he moved to Japan in 2003 to work first for the Japanese government before joining Societe Generale in Tokyo.
Sebastien studied Business and English in France, after which he pursued his studies in the UK, US and Singapore where he received his MBA from INSEAD in 2006.
